For one of our clients who recently opened a new comic book store in the province of Bergamo, we designed and implemented the complete computerization of their point of sale. In particular, after careful study and design developed together with the client, we provided the best combination of hardware and software components, achieving a valid compromise between requirements, functionality, and the established price. The POS system in question is a complete cash register consisting of multiple components. Here are the details:
- 23" MSI All-in-One Touchscreen PC
- Epson FP 81-II fiscal printer
- Fiscal printer display
- Electric cash drawer
- USB cash register keypad
- Wi-Fi barcode reader
In addition to supplying individual hardware components, a complete management system dedicated to comic book stores was installed on the PC. The system also includes a Wi-Fi barcode reader, which allows items to be downloaded/uploaded to the store remotely (without necessarily being near the cash register). The management software for comic book stores is comprehensive and allows for the management of personal data, promotional items, series, subscriptions, advance reservations, and many other functions typical of collectibles/comic book stores. A system for synchronizing orders/catalog directly with some of the store's suppliers has also been integrated to save time and avoid errors in the billing/loading/inventory phases. A dedicated e-commerce site synchronized directly with the management system is planned for a later stage, in order to have a complete supplier-retailer-buyer system capable of meeting the needs of enthusiasts in the sector.
